Lori Your analyze is perfect. It is an older and different drawing. I did it with sorrow, on the day this beautiful chinese building was knocked down. It was the year I toggled from rotring to CAD and began sketching regularly.
Wow -- they knocked this down? How unbelievably sad they didn't restore or renovate.
"Toggled from Rotring to CAD" -- perfectly describes the transition to digital I made once upon a time as a graphic designer. I so missed using those hand-skills I re-invented myself as a marketing person. But now am grateful for digital, because I really didn't like photgraphy until digital...

I wonder...is this another "earlier" work?
I wonder only because I've seen many people who start out in life drawing tight...and then over time become looser and more fluid.
And compared to your other posts, this seems tighter -- I like it, but it is less playful with space than other things you've sketched.
Interesting work..makes me look closer.
